Mattress Cleaning and Stain Removal
1.Handle dust and fine debris.
We can use a vacuum cleaner to clean up dust, hair, dander, etc. On the top and bottom surface of the mattress as a whole. Pay attention to the surface of the mattress, and more importantly, pay attention to the crevices of the grooves. Inside it hides a lot of dirt. Normally the mattress should also be vacuumed regularly for the room. Usually every time you change the bed sheet vacuuming once is enough.
2. Deal with mold and mildew
We sleep mattress every day, its hygiene directly affects our health. If the room is humid, the mattress is easy to mold. This time you need to do some measures to remove mold, master the following two steps.
Step 1:Open more windows to ventilate the room, reduce indoor humidity, and then use disinfectant to clean the moldy mattress. Disinfectant is generally diluted with water at a ratio of 1:50, soak or scrub for 15 minutes to achieve the effect of killing mold.
Step 2:Expose to the sun for 2 days. (Do not expose latex mattresses to the sun!) The best way to deal with mold is ultraviolet light, which can kill mold quickly and make the mattress completely dry outside, thus destroying the conditions for mold growth. Of course, we must turn it over every two hours. If the weather does not allow, we can dry the mattress indoors with electric heating.
3. Treating urine stains
Spray white vinegar on the urine stains, let it sit for an hour, then press it with a cool wet towel and clean it. Remember not to rub randomly to prevent the stain from expanding. In addition, you can use a toothbrush instead of a towel brush to remove urine stains, and you can use a hair dryer to dry it in time after cleaning.
4. Handle blood stains
Mattress accidentally stained with blood, clean up is not easy. This time you can use a small amount of wet paper towels to cover the blood stains, with the water on the paper towel “pre-wash” blood stains.
If it is a new blood stain, dissolve it in cold water with salt, spray the blood stain on it, dissolve the stain and then wipe it with a towel. For dried blood stains, try mixing 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of salt and 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide. Then apply the solution to the blood spot and gently scrape the coagulated blood spot with a spoon. After the blood stains are completely dissolved, use a towel to absorb the excess water, and the mattress face value will rub back!
5. Deal with odors
What if the mattress smells of smoke and odor? After cleaning the mattress, put a large bowl of vinegar on the bed, open the window to keep the bedroom ventilated, and leave it for a day to reduce the odor of the mattress.
If the odor is too strong to be removed, try another method.
① Mix detergent and white vinegar in the ratio of 1:5, and then add appropriate amount of water to dilute;
② Spray the mixed solution evenly on the mattress and leave it for half an hour. If you are worried that the water has not dried, you can wipe the surface with a dry towel and blow dry with a hair dryer.
